Gaze — Chapter 3 explores a planetary civilization that does not live on its world, but as part of it. In this chapter, the planet is revealed as a living organism whose energy fields, geological structures, and species form a single co-evolving system.

Inspired by symbiotic theory, the wave–particle duality of light, and the recursive geometry of the Mandelbulb, the narrative examines how energy collapses transform into matter and memory through the act of observation by the Gaia species.

As these collapses diminish, the planet begins to dry out due to an emerging power shortage, exposing a fragile ecological intelligence sustained by perception itself. Chapter 3 marks the moment when coexistence becomes precarious, and survival hinges on whether life can evolve from a passive witness to a regenerative force.

More than science fiction, GAZE is an architectural thought experiment. It examines how observation, participation, and coexistence reshape systems — from particles to planets, from organisms to cities. The series extends firms’ research into object-oriented ontology and systemic design, positioning architecture not just as a human-dominant artifact, but as a co-evolving entity within larger ecological and energetic fields.
